Site selection is critical to the success of a Brigade Pizza restaurant and each site must be approved by us in writing. Site selection is a collaborative effort. Often we have sites that we are looking to develop or potential franchisees come to us with a site that they think would be a winner. If not, then we begin a search to assist you. We are very active in site selection and lease negotiations and we provide consultation for both.

Who designs and builds the restaurant?

With over 10 years of experience building restaurants, Brigade Pizza’s owners have developed a network of designers, architects, general contractors from whom we select the right providers for your location. However, you will be provided with a set of basic, non-site specific, plans and can submit them to the service providers of your choice. All plans must be submitted to us for review and approval. We work very closely with the service providers and contractors and are involved in the construction process from start to finish.

How long does it take to build a restaurant?

Once you receive possession of the leased premises from the landlord and you begin your leasehold improvements, it typically takes about 8-12 weeks for construction and another 2 weeks after that for pre-opening on site training.

What types of qualifications does Brigade Pizza look for in a franchisee?

Not everyone who applies for a franchise meets the criteria to become a Brigade Pizzeria Restaurant Owner. For mutual success and satisfaction, we must ensure that every restaurant owner possesses the necessary skills, commitment level, dedication, work ethic, character and strong people skills. Financial soundness is a requirement; however, is not the only or most important deciding factor when short-listing candidates. Qualified candidates must be organized and disciplined, have had some supervisory experience, and have great interpersonal skills. You are not required to have any restaurant experience though it is a plus.

How secure is the personal information I provide on my Application.

The information is 100% secure and confidential. We do not share the information and it is used solely in determining your candidacy as a Brigade Pizza franchisee. If you are not considered to be a viable candidate the information will be destroyed.

What sales volume can I expect?

Sales volume is highly dependent on numerous factors including the location, the ability of the franchisee to properly manage the business, economic conditions and the like.

Do I have to operate the restaurant or can I simply invest?

Given the demands of a 7 day a week operation, it is our policy to seek applicants that are committed to providing their full time and attention to the business. The nature of the operation requires a personal commitment to the business, and, particularly in the initial years, an investment of long hours. Since the franchise agreement is for a 10 year term, plus one potential renewal totaling an additional 10 years, we seek franchisees that can make a long term commitment to operating the franchise, without becoming absentee owners once established. We do accept investors or silent partners, providing that there is at least one restaurant operator who is also a shareholder.

What support is given for a new restaurant opening?

A successful opening is a critical step in the development of a Brigade franchise. We assist the franchisee with a “hands-on” team for the Opening of your franchise and for a period of 10 days thereafter. We also provide pre and post opening advice along with providing an Opening Store marketing plan.

What ongoing support is given to a Franchisee?

The main function of the franchisor is to assist the franchisee by supporting their efforts in all key functions ranging from operations, to training, real estate development, construction, accounting, human resources, information technology, franchising and marketing. This is provided for via ongoing training, updates to the Operations Manual, restaurant visits and consultations.

Does Brigade insist on using a certain supplier (s)?

Brigade is extremely quality conscious and this is the basis of our success. It is therefore it is mandatory that all franchisees purchase their products only from us or our approved suppliers. It is only in this way that we can assure that our guests have the same dining experience in every restaurant. Our purchasing is done through a designated supplier system, which ensures both high quality, the benefits of bulk purchasing and traceability of products.
